iTrinityGroup Launches New Website

Thursday, October 10th, 2002

Franklin, TN - Trinity & Associates, Inc. launched it new website today. Bob Steele, founder and Senior Consultant designed and built the site. “Our previous site was a little over two years old – it’s amazing how quickly sites can become outdated. The web as well as other aspects of the business worlds are moving at record speeds."

Steele said the new site was designed to emphasize the six different disciplines offered by the company. They are evenly split between the Christian products industry and Steele’s former mainline business consulting skills. “I recently made the decision to stay here in Tennessee and complete my career focusing on the Christian products industry. I came to faith through the ministry of a Christian bookstore – it makes sense to give back to the industry that gave so much to me." In addition to industry specific services in innovations, standards, training & educational seminars, the company offers business & strategic development, management performance and leadership assessment & development.

Steele Recaps New Retail Technology

Wednesday, May 7st, 2002

San Antonio, TX – Kelly Gallagher, VP of ECPA and Chairman of the Christian Standards Product Group (CPSG) announced the formation of an informal committee designed to keep pace with the changing technical environment in publishing and retailing. Bob Steele, President & Senior Consultant of TrinityGroup was selected the head the group.

Steele made a brief presentation entitled "Emerging Technology" which focused mainly on the use of electronic product codes. Steele stated this industry is a prime candidate for the efficiencies of this technology due to it's high SKU counts and low price points. "I'm excited about this technology - we need to find ways to cut costs in ordering, managing and handling our products. I think ePC's are the answer."

ePC (electronic product code) technology enables the use of low cost "tags" with  product codes to be embedded in products to be accessed by RFID (radio frequency ID) devices. The most common use of this technology seen today are "speed-pass" cards, but Wal-Mart and many supplies are in test phases already for retail applications. "Just as the UPC revolutionized retail when it was introduced in the grocery industry in 1976, I think we'll see the same kind of efficiencies and speed of implementation for ePC's" stated Steele.

Bob Steele Joins The Marketing Group’s Advisory Board; Reflects Increased Focus On Christian Music and Books

Thursday, March 14th, 2002

Nashville, TN – Jim Wood, President/CEO of The Marketing Group, today announced that Bob Steele of Trinity & Associates, Inc. has joined the company’s advisory board. Steele is a veteran consultant to the Christian retail industry, and the move reflects the increasing attention The Marketing Group is paying to Christian music and books, beyond its current specializations in mainstream Country, CHR, and Urban.

“We feel some of the unique models we’ve developed for clients over the past three years can be very successful with Christian publishers, record labels, and retailers; and Bob’s role is to provide background as we expand into yet another new area,” said Wood. “We’ve been doing our homework for about a year now, and we feel as if we’ve got a good handle on the challenges facing companies in this industry. Christian books and music aren’t even close to reaching their full potential, and it’s time to make this move.”

Steele is currently President of Trinity & Associates, Inc., a business consulting firm based in Nashville, Tennessee. Most recently, he served Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Spring Arbor Distributors.

In 1996, Steele founded TrinityZone.com, the first full-scale eCommerce Christian bookstore. Microsoft Chairman, Bill Gates, was present at the launch of the company, which was one of 36 original eCommerce sites to run Microsoft’s Site Server® commerce software. TrinityZone.com was later sold to Crosswalk.com in 1999.

His initial foray into Christian retailing was a very successful Christian bookstore in New Jersey, which he managed from 1973 until 1980. After serving 7 years with Spring Arbor Distributors during its start-up and explosive growth stage, Bob launched his consulting firm, Trinity & Associates, Inc. in 1986.

“After spending the bulk of my career working in retail, distribution, publishing, and now having built stronger relationships with Christian record labels, I look forward to expanding my company in the coming year. Working with The Marketing Group is part of the next phase for my company,” Steele said.

Steele serves on several industry panels and study groups, and is a member of several other companies’ boards.

The Marketing Group is a boutique marketing agency based in Nashville, Tennessee. The company’s primary business is creating highly-customized Radio programming and promotions to accomplish specific retail objectives. A sampling of the company’s clients includes Anderson Merchandisers, Sony Music, Kraft Foods, Century 21, and GEICO Insurance.
